Dr. Gergely Németh

He is the Head of the NATO Strategic Foresight Group. He began his professional career in 2007 at the Military Intelligence Directorate, working in the evaluation and analysis field. Until 2013, he worked in the Hungarian Armed Forces’ force development and technology program management, and then led the NATO force planning sub-area. From 2013 to 2017, he served as Hungary’s defence planning representative to NATO.

Since 2017, he has been involved in the 'Zrinyi 2026' force development program, later becoming the deputy director responsible for international relations in the armaments directorate. From 2019, he has served as the deputy state secretary responsible for defence policy, strategic analysis, and international relations at the Ministry of Defence.

In 2020, he led the development of Hungary's National Security Strategy, and in 2021, he led the creation of Hungary's National Military Strategy. Since 2022, he has been the leader of the NATO Transformation Command’s Future Studies Group, and the research leader and co-author of the NATO Strategic Foresight Analysis 2023.

He holds a Doctor of Military Sciences degree (National University of Public Service), is a Certified Futurologist (University of Houston), an innovation specialist (University of Michigan), and a national security leader (George Washington University).

He is the husband of a wonderful wife and the father of three lively children. His hobbies include hiking and modeling.
